UniMetrics methodology evaluates universities twice a year using three core indicators:
Visibility, Openness (Transparency), and Excellence.
These metrics measure a university's global web presence, academic visibility, and research impact based on digital data and citation analysis.
Core Indicators:
Visibility (Impact - 50%): Measures the number of external networks and backlinks pointing to the university’s domain, captured via major search engines and backlink data providers.
Openness / Transparency (10%): Assesses the number of citations received by top-cited institutional researchers and profiles, calculated using data from platforms like OpenAlex.
Excellence (40%): Counts the number of scientific papers published by the institution that rank among the top 10% most cited in their respective fields over a multi-year period, using bibliometric data sources.
